What is WIDA? WIDA is a consortium of states, territories and federal agencies dedicated to the research, design and implementation of a high-quality, standards-based system for K-12 English language learners. New Jersey is part of the WIDA Consortium.
What is ACCESS for Ells? ACCESS is an English language proficiency assessment administered to Kindergarten through 12th-grade students who have been identified as English language learners (ELLs). It is given annually in WIDA Consortium member states to monitor students' progress in acquiring academic English.
